Our Philosophy

When we began searching for a location for Helix 5 years ago, we found many “good” spots but none were quite right for us. They were too big, too small, too industrial, or too far off the beaten path. Finally, standing on an available lot in the newly developing River Prairie, we knew we found it. We need developments like River Prairie that blend businesses and nature, and on that day in 2017, we realized we had the perfect location to bring our dream to life.

Similarly, it is this connection of business with nature that makes vineyards so special and this influence was a big inspiration for the design of our building. Vineyards and wineries are agricultural-based businesses, where nature surrounds you and creates a beautiful setting for people to have a unique experience while they enjoy delicious wines. We knew that we wanted to find a way to share a taste of some of our favorite winery experiences with the Chippewa Valley, and with that goal in mind, we designed Helix so that our very special 3rd Space connects the inside to the outside and gives our guests the feeling of being surrounded by nature wherever you are in our space.

Our passion for wine extends to all things artisanal, craft, and carefully produced. Whether it is finding unique spirits for our craft cocktails, picking and choosing a well-rounded selection of rotating craft beers, serving our favorite coffee, or finding delicious foods for you to pair with our wide selection of beverages, everything we serve at Helix has been carefully chosen by us to serve to you, and we will continue to find the unique gems that surprise you with their quality without busting the budget. And that is where Helix comes in. We can’t wait to share some of our favorites with you as we bring a whole world of deliciousness to Western WI.

Most commercial spaces are designed more for the landlord than the business inhabiting the area. This might make sense from a building owner’s standpoint since they don’t know how long a tenant will stay, but this makes it challenging to strengthen neighborhoods and build communities or to tap into or enhance and embrace the beauty around us. We always knew we needed a very special home for our vision of Helix to truly come to life, one that wasn’t just a space in a plaza in front of a busy thoroughfare.
