Job Description

Helix is currently seeking energetic candidates to join our kitchen team. We are searching for organized, motivated, multitasking individuals who will thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented bar/cafe/restaurant environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Clean all dishes, utensils, glassware, and coffee mugs, as well as keep clean dishes stacked and organized in appropriate storage areas

  • Keep all cooking equipment and appliances clean, including coffee equipment

  • Keep all work areas in the kitchen clean and tidy

  • Assist Kitchen Staff with keeping work surfaces and floors cleaned and sanitized

  • Remove trash and refill garbage bins with new bags

  • Ability to communicate in order to perform and follow job requirements, whether by written instructions or spoken directions

  • Ability to calmly and effectively multitask in a fast-based, busy environment

  • Follow all company rules, policies, and conditions of employment, as outlined in the Helix Employee Handbook

  • Work well with others in order to help Team Helix thrive

Qualifications and Skills

  • High School diploma or GED preferred

  • At least 1 year of experience in the same position

  • Excellent time management skills

  • A positive and friendly attitude towards co-workers and the ability to be a team player

  • Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment

  • Available to work a variety of hours, days, and shifts, including weekends

  • Ability to stand for an entire shift and move safely through all areas of the establishment, which may include stairs and slick surfaces in the back of house

  • Able to move and lift up to 10 pounds frequently, move and/or lift up to 25 pounds, and occasionally move and /or lift up to 50 pounds (with reasonable accommodations, such as a hand truck). You should also be able to climb up and down a ladder

  • Understand and comply with all Food Safety guidelines, and ensure that cleaning guidelines are being followed at all times to maintain a safe establishment

Compensation

Starting wage is $12-15/hour, depending on experience level. Enjoy 50% off two food menu items per shift, and 10% off all retail when you work 15 or more hours per week. (Some restrictions apply—see Employee Handbook for details).
